I frequently see a (yellow) error on this controller, especially later coming out of hibernate. Information technology is e'er fixed easily past deleting the entry from the device managing director, followed by scanning for new hardware with the push on the top. The controller is then detected, installed properly, and USB devices (internal or external) start working again.
Still, the trouble is frequent and annoying, and so a permanent set up would exist welcome.

I accept been experiencing this trouble ever since upgrading to Windows 8 six months ago (never had the trouble with Windows 7 before). Information technology is very irritating, about ix in x cases when resuming from hibernate having to disable/enable the device.

Laptop is Sony Vaio VPCF1. I am using the latest driver I could find, i.due east. Intel 04/06/2009 nine.1.1.1013.

If anyone has found a solution it would be not bad if they could post information technology here.

Non a solution, but I have devised a more efficient way to disable and re-enable my USB device.

Rather than a ton of clicks in device manager, I run a batch file that calls the Microsoft devcon utility. Devcon is a sort of command line equivalent for device managing director. As I retrieve it comes with the Windows Driver Kit (WDK), get the i that is nigh recent and works for Win8 (older versions of devcon did not work for me). Install information technology (Big!). And then you tin choice out the devcon.exe, put information technology somewhere else if you wish, the WDK may then be uninstalled.

The batch file I use is as follows:

devcon disable *DEV_3B34*
devcon disable *DEV_3B3C*
devcon enable *DEV_3B34*
devcon enable *DEV_3B3C*

I have a shortcut on my desktop, set to run it as administrator. Click it, , click OK to the UAC popup, done. This makes the problem a bit less painful...

Thanks Martijn, that sounds very useful. I did create a similar script earlier, but was using "devcon.exe restart *DEV_3B34" which did not piece of work reliably. Looking at your version the cause may be because the 'restart' enables the device besides early after disabling it. I remember that doing this manually rapidly does not work either and I normally need to await a second or too before enabling the device. Thanks again for the script.

Honey all,

I had pretty much the same problem. But before fiddling around with DevCon.exe, the following information is worth checking: http://pcsupport.about.com/od/driverssupport/ht/upperfilters-lowerfilters.htm

I had an Acer Aspire 5272 laptop where a defective LowerFilters value in the USB driver form was the culprit. After deleting this entry, everything works as expected.

Kind regards,
